The bestofpei Market is pleased to host the launch of an exciting new CD featuring the musical “The Nine Lives of L.M. Montgomery”, which enjoyed its world premiere run at Kings Playhouse this past summer. It becomes available this Tuesday Nov.4 as an original cast album.

Haley Batchilder, who covered Maud’s entire adult life on the album, will be at the CD launch, accompanied by composer Leo Marchildon and lyricist Adam-Michael James for the 11:30 appearance, to sign copies of your CD. Also meet some of the the cast members at the 3:30 appearance.

The disc features most of the songs created for the show by composer Leo Marchildon and lyricist Adam-Michael James, including audience favourites “An Epoch In My Life”, “More Important Things” and “Character Analysis”. There’s also a bonus “Character Themes Suite”, in which Marchildon paints evocative musical portraits of Montgomery’s eight fictional heroines.

Packed with a full 80 minutes of music, the album is an audio journey through Montgomery’s lifetime, from the Scottish reels of the 1880s to the Big Band stylings of the late 1930s, and is designed both as a companion piece for fans of the show and as an opportunity for the uninitiated to discover it on their own.
